Last weekend I attended
the Australia Grand Prix, very nice seats but a little boring (I would
rather have been working the event), and this weekend I helped out with
the start of the "Fly the Flag Tour" a 1000+ KM road "rally" for
histroic cars. No timed sections, just a lot of back "paved" roads and
scenic sights to see. Since the event is 1,177 KM in 7 days they have allot of time to "stop and smell the flowers". The event is limited to 200 cars and the RACV (their AAA) sends along 2 Service Teams. The Royal Governor (Australia is still in the English Commonwealth ie a Colony) gave a speach and waved off the 1st 10 cars.
